New York-based Beautiful Soup Theater, known for their revivals of Rags, A Doll's Life and Moose Murders, has announced their 2013-2014 theatrical season.

The season will begin with the American premiere of the sold-out West End hit musical Lift, with music and lyrics by Craig Adams and a libretto by Ian Watson. The musical will play The Richmond Shepard Theatre in November, 2013 and will star Erin Elizabeth Eichhorn (Bella in Rags). The production will be directed by Beautiful Soup Artistic Director Steven Carl McCasland. According to press notes, "Lift is about people and connections. The connections we have without knowing about them, the connections we lose sight of and the connections we don't mean to have. Eight people get in a lift at Covent Garden tube station on an ordinary morning and what follows is an exploration into their thoughts. Through seeing everything they think and revealing their innermost secrets, we realize that in some way they are all connected and if they reached out to one another they might change their lives forever." A concept album was released in 2012 under the Perfect Pitch label.

Lift will run from November 13th through November 25th. Tickets are available now at http://beautifulsoup.showclix.com. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Beautiful Soup will continue its season with a revival of Ferenc Molnar's classic play Liliom. For the first time in 73 years, the play that inspired the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel returns to the New York Stage in a new production directed by Artistic Director Steven Carl McCasland. When carousel barker Liliom meets the beautiful Julie, an unexpected romance begins for both. It is a romance that theatre lovers have spent decades talking about. The production will open in February of 2014.

In addition to staged readings of two legendary flops, the season will conclude with a spring revival of a well-known musical that failed in its previous American incarnation despite a successful run in London's West End. The musical will be announced at a later time. The 2013-2014 season will round out with a workshop of McCasland's new play, Fun House, an exploration of the Pickfair Estate.

In continuing its mission to make theater that benefits the community, Beautiful Soup will continue to donate a portion of its proceeds to a different charity for each production. Previous beneficiaries include The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, The Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network and more.
