In a stunning turn of events reminiscent of recent top headlines coming out of Washington D.C., the Artistic Director of the downtown comedy theatre Brave New Workshop has accused his own cast of colluding with popular comedy news program "The Daily Show".

"There is evidence to suggest that cast member Ryan Robert Nelson has colluded with Trevor Noah and the Daily Show, and the American people deserve to have this evidence investigated until a definitive conclusion is reached," McEwen stated in a press conference attended by no one.

The alleged collusion occurred during the writing of the upcoming main stage show, "Guardians of the Fallacy: Executive Disorder", opening July 8th and running through October 28th.

After the title selection of the BNW main stage show, announced May 3rd, an exact usage of that pun was seen as a background image for "The Daily Show", posted on May 28th. Following that incident, a sketch was written by Nelson taking place in a future Trump presidential library.

Documents with the date and time stamp of May 30th, 2017 detail the sketch, which gives us a setting of, "The first 36-hole presidential library, built upon imported ancient Native American burial grounds." The sketch goes on to tour the digital wing dedicated to President Trump's tweets.

Following the submission of this sketch for the show, "The Daily Show" opened an installation called, "The Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library" for this past weekend in New York.

"There is only one logical explanation for this, and it's that Ryan Robert Nelson has been secretly and maliciously submitting material to "The Daily Show" for months, perhaps years," states BNW Entertainment Company president Earl Mollerud. "I think we can deduce that 'The Daily Show' has been asked to interfere with the outcome of this upcoming show."

For his part, cast member Nelson was largely silent on the issue save a stream of tweets over the weekend detailing his distaste for McEwen and the investigation. One tweet, reading "Mainstream leadership coming after me again for baseless allegations. SAD!" came in around 4am on Sunday morning, with a follow up tweet at 5am of, "@Trevornoah much stronger leader than @calebmcewen - outsmarts him every time. The fantastic people at @thedailyshow must love having such a strong leader!"

Trevor Noah was unavailable for comment, as his direct phone number is unlisted.

Performances of "Guardians of the Fallacy: Executive Disorder" can be seen every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night starting July 8th - tickets are available via bravenewworkshop.com or through calling the box office at (612) 332-6620.
