The Spare Change Series presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream" Hollywood's new charity-based play reading series, The Spare Change Series, will be presenting their very first production on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 7pm at the Art of Acting Studio, located at 1017 N. Orange Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90038. The troupe will be performing William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and all proceeds will be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

While "Midsummer" is being presented as a staged reading, the evening is being revamped and conceptualized by director Gil Marsden for an intriguing and fresh take on the idea of staged readings in general. Rounding out the cast of Hollywood cool kids and fresh faces are Scarlett Bermingham, Kevin Daniels, Andrew Dits, Maya Erskine, Grace Folsom, Cody Johnston, Andria Kozica, Jessica McNamee, Asher Nicholson, Joseph Patrick O'Malley, Graham Sibley, Katy Stoll, Margaux Susi, and Damian Washington.

Actress and producer Andria Kozica founded The Spare Change Series as a means to raise awareness and money for various charities while continuing to grow a strong theatre scene in Los Angeles. "When I went to NYU, we used to have an event at the Stella Adler Studio called the Shakespeare Benefit. All the proceeds were given to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. That event was one of the big inspirations for this project, and I thought that producing Midsummer to benefit BCEFA would honor that tradition."

Art of Acting Studio is Stella Adler's west coast sister school and generously donated their theatre for this production. The Spare Change Series is a donation based reading series committed to giving life to powerful, thought-provoking plays while raising awareness and money for charity.

Each reading is dedicated to a charity that correlates to the theme of the play, and all proceeds from the evening will be donated to that organization. We aim to build a community of thoughtful, passionate artists using their talents for a greater good.
