Conductor Juraj Val?uha leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic and pianist Yefim Bronfman at Walt Disney Concert Hall in three performances, Thursday, April 21, at 8 p.m., Friday, April 22, at 11 a.m. and Saturday, April 23, at 8 p.m. The program features Peter Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 1, "Winter Daydreams," and Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by Bronfman. The concerts mark Val?uha's Walt Disney Concert Hall debut.
Juraj Val?uha holds the post of Chief Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Torino. Highlights of his 2010/11 season include conducting the New Year concerts of the Munich Philharmonic with the Beethoven 9th Symphony as well as the Mahler 5th Symphony, the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Orchestre de Paris, the Philharmonia London, the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and the Houston Symphony. He conducts a new production of La Bohème at Teatro la Fenice Venezia and with his RAI Orchestra appears on tour at the Berlin Philharmonie and Vienna's Musikverein, as well as in the "Abu Dhabi Classics" series with Yo-Yo Ma. He last appeared with the LA Phil at the Hollywood Bowl in August of 2009.Yefim Bronfman's 2010/11 U.S. season highlights include recitals in Los Angeles and San Francisco as well as performances of Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto with the orchestras of Houston, Cincinnati and Saint Louis and Brahms' second with the orchestras of Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles.Complete Program:
