Spamalot Musical in Colorado Springs:

Monty Python's Spamalot musical will play the Pikes Peak Center February 8-9, 2011. Spamalot is an outrageous musical comedy and winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical and winner of the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album. Lovingly ripped off from the film classic, "Monty Python and The Holy Grail," Spamalot is sure to please all Monty Python fans and more. With a book by Eric Idle and music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning team of Mr. Idle and John Du Prez, Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail.

Based on the Tony Award winning direction of Mike Nichols and the riotous choreography of Casey Nicholaw, Monty Python's Spamalot features a book by Eric Idle, based on the screenplay of Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, with music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning team of Mr. Idle and John Du Prez.

Monty Python's Spamalot is produced by Stephen B. Kane, Michael McFadden and Phoenix Entertainment

Mike Nichols has been acclaimed as one of the great American directors in film, theater and television. He has won the Academy Award and eight Tony Awards. He recently received the Directors' Guild of America Award for Lifetime Achievement as well as a DGA Award for the direction of the HBO adaptation of Angels in America.

Casey Nicholaw's outstanding work on Monty Python's Spamalot earned him nominations for the Tony Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award and the Drama Desk Award. He followed up Monty Python's Spamalot with another smash hit Broadway musical, The Drowsy Chaperone for which he earned numerous nominations as director and choreographer.

Aside from his work with Monty Python in films and on TV, Eric Idle has written a West End play, Pass the Butler; three novels, including The Road to Mars, The Rutles - A Mockumentary; and many songs too rude to mention. He has sung opera, acted in movies, appeared on television and crossed America performing comedy on The Greedy Bastard Tour. His diary of his 15,000 mile journey by bus was recently published by Harper Collins, and his long awaited sequel The Rutles2: Can't Buy Me Lunch was released by Warner Video in March. There's no saying what he might do next...

John Du Prez has composed over 20 feature film scores including A Fish Called Wanda, A Private Function, The Meaning of Life, Personal Services, UHF, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I, II & III. He has worked with Eric Idle since 1978.

Monty Python isn't a person, but a group of British actors and writers (and one American) that performed their famous comedy show Monty Python's Flying Circus on the BBC from 1969 to 1974, with subsequent international fame and success.

Flying cows, killer rabbits, taunting Frenchmen, and show-stopping musical numbers are just a few of the reasons audiences everywhere are eating up Spamalot. Spamalot tickets for Colorado Springs are on sale now and start at just $32.50 (before discount).

Legally Blonde the Musical in Colorado Springs:

From March 9-10, 2011 Legally Blonde the Musical will paint Colorado Springs pink. The hilarious MGM film, Legally Blonde, is now a smash hit touring musical that Time Magazine called "An Elle of a Show!" Legally Blonde the Musical follows sorority star Elle Woods, an underestimated blonde who doesn't take "no" for an answer. When her boyfriend dumps her for someone more "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. After turning Broadway and MTV hot pink, this "Feel-Good Song and Dance Juggernaut" (New York Magazine) is "The Best New Musical Around!" (WOR).

In its first year on Broadway, Legally Blonde the Musical earned seven 2007 Tony Award nominations, ten 2007 Drama Desk Award Nominations, and a 2007 Outer Critics Circle Award. The musical also ranked in the top ten list of the most requested Ticketmaster "Arts & Theatre Events" for 2007. Legally Blonde the Musical received three 2009 Touring Broadway Awards in New York City on May 4, 2009. The show won awards for Best New Musical, Best Production Design and Best Choreography of a Touring Production.

In the fall of 2007, MTV aired Legally Blonde the Musical in its entirety to stellar ratings and was subsequently nominated for two 2007-2008 Daytime Emmy Awards.

As on Broadway, Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell is the director and choreographer. Music and lyrics are by both Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and the book is by Heather Hach.

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL will take you from the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway's brightest new heroine (and of course, her chihuahua, Bruiser). The verdict? This much fun shouldn't be legal!

"Grease" is the word from May 10-11, 2011 at the Pikes Peak Center! Grease musical, Time Magazine's 2007 pick for "#1 musical of the year," is rockin' across the country in this new production direct from Broadway. Now starring Laverne & Shirley's Eddie Mekka (Carmine "The Big Ragu" Ragusa) as DJ Vince Fontaine. Take a trip to a simpler time of poodle skirts, drive-ins, and T-birds. "Bad boy" Danny and "the girl next door" Sandy fall in love all over again to the tune of your favorite songs: "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightnin'" and "We Go Together" as well as additional songs from the hit movie: "Grease," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "You're the One That I Want."

After spending a hopelessly devoted summer with Sandy Dumbrowski, the new girl in town, Danny Zuko's world is thrown upside down when Sandy appears at Rydell High on the first day of school. What follows is a rock n' roll celebration of growin' up, cruisin' with friends and goin' steady. Eddie Mekka will star in the tour as DJ "Vince Fontaine." Eddie is best known for his role as 'Carmine Ragusa, The Big Ragu' on the hit ABC-TV sitcom "Laverne & Shirley." He appeared on many of the most popular TV series of the 70s, 80s and 90s, including "The Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," "Moonlighting," and "The New Rockford Files."

On the big screen, Eddie played Bette Midler's cohort in Beaches. He appeared as Madonna's boyfriend in A League of their Own, as 'Lt. Vincent Barbero' in Taking the Heat with Lynn Whitfield, and as 'The Prophet' in Garry Marshall's film Dear God.

Alyssa Herrera will star as "Sandy" and Matt Nolan will star as "Danny." Alyssa is a recent graduate of Wagner College. Her favorite roles include parts in High School Musical and Little Women. Matt was a finalist on NBC's "Grease: You're the One That I Want." He recently appeared in the national tour of Hairspray.
