This January, the PACE Center and Starkey Theatrix present the classic tale of Peter Pan. This is a one-of-a-kind theatrical production for PACE, as multiple characters will fly through the air, thanks to the mechanisms of Flying By Foy. This aerial effects company has been called "the most prolific and widely-respected theatrical flying service in the world." They have collaborated on several well-known Broadway productions such as The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera, The Wizard of Oz, and Peter Pan with the great Cathy Rigby.

PACE's Production Manager Shaun Albrechtson promises that in addition to characters in flight, several other thrilling effects will both surprise and delight audiences. Giving us a taste of the enchantment, Albrechtson explains that "as Peter and the children take off from their bedroom, the scene explodes and Neverland will magically appear on stage." He also hints at other moving parts and tricks on stage that will make the entire experience "amazing."

This celebrated musical also guarantees top-notch talent, choreography, costumes, and music:

- Ben Dicke, winner of the Culture West People's Choice Denver Theatre Person of the Year Award, will be directing Peter Pan. Dicke's directorial credits include Xanadu and The Hobbit, among others.

- Starkey Theatrix, who also produced Always...Patsy Cline, Little Shop of Horrors, and Bingo at the PACE Center, will be producing this fresh take on a beloved musical. Production Manager Ronni Gallup says "our goal is to take a classic that we've all grown to love, and create a new experience for kids, so that they'll fall in love with it too."

- Rae and Laurie Klapperich bring their vast experience and imagination to the costuming for Peter Pan, all of which will be designed from scratch. Choreography for the musical will be lead by Matthew Peters, whose skills were highly recognized in Peter Pan at the Boulder Dinner Theater.

- Just off a run at the Arvada Center in A Christmas Carol, Stephen Day will be joining the cast as the villainous Captain Hook, and Lacey Connell, who's currently playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, will be appearing as Peter Pan, the boy who refuses to grow up.

Peter Pan will be at the PACE Center for 12 shows, January 24 - February 9. Tickets are $16-$25 at PACEcenteronline.org, 303.805.6800 or at the PACE Center Box Office located at 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue, in downtown Parker.
