Local Theater Company, under the artistic leadership of Pesha Rudnick, kicks off its fifth season of presenting new works in Boulder, Colorado, with the world premiere of The Firestorm by Meridith Friedman. Set during a heated political season, the production begins previews at the new Dairy Arts Center on Thursday, October 13. Opening night is set for Sunday, October 16. The show runs through Sunday, November 13.

Tickets are now available online at www.localtheatercompany.org.

Here's how the production is billed: Gaby and Patrick are married. A hot political couple on the verge of moving into the governor's mansion. But when the campaign is hit with an impending political scandal, the race-and Gaby and Patrick's marriage-begins to fracture. Tensions rise. The personal becomes explosively political. And a husband and wife must confront just how strong their alliance really is.

The production stars Timothy McCracken as Patrick, Jada Dixon as Gaby, Iona Leighton as Leslie, and Maduka Steady, seen on Broadway in Amy's View, as Jamal.

Pesha Rudnick, whose credits include the world premiere of Eve Ensler's O.P.C. at American Repertory Theater (Diane Paulus, artistic director), and Emotional Creature at Signature Theater Center and Berkley Repertory Theatre, directs.

The creative team includes Susan Crabtree (scenic design), Shannon McKinney (lighting design), Annabel Reader (costume design), Hunter Ewen (original composition and sound design), and Daniel Burns (props design). Megan Mathews serves as producer.
