Creede Repertory Theatre opened its forty-fifth season last weekend with the Broadway smash hit, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The show follows six adolescents as they battle for glory in the one place where they have a chance to win, the spelling bee. CRT's stellar cast made audiences gasp with laughter and wish for their own place amongst the loveable, awkward misfits of Putnam County. This Tony award winning show captures the happy-go-lucky spirit of youth and helps to bring out the nerd in all of us!

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will run through August 21. Come see why this Tony award winning musical was called, "W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L" by The Wall Street Journal. Visit www.creederep.org or call 719-658-2540 for tickets. And hurry! They're going fast! Please mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

CRT's annual Meet the Company Dessert Auction will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 6:00PM. Come and bid on delicious desserts while being entertained by this season's cast!

CRT will also host the Mwangaza Children's Choir on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 7:30PM. Mwangaza means, "shining light" in Swahili. These inspiring Ugandan children range in age from seven to thirteen. They will be singing traditional Ugandan music. For tickets to the Mwangaza Children's Choir, please call the Creede Baptist Church at 719-658-2312.
