It was a big year; we met Grumpy Cat and the Royal Baby, saw everyone's version of the Harlem Shake and heard everyone's opinion of Miley Cyrus's antics. Come celebrate an eventful year with improv comedy at The Bovine Metropolis Theater in their annual "On The Spot" New Year's Eve celebration.

It gets cold outside celebrating New Year's, so stay inside and warm your funny bone until just moments before the big fireworks display. This year there are three showings on New Year's Eve and they are timed so that the audience can enjoy the warm laughs at 4:00 p.m. (a show for families) 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., and still catch the fireworks, mere feet away from the front door of the Bovine, in between the show as well as the ball drop at midnight.

This show is a great way to ring in the New Year, and is a great way to find entertainment downtown away from the swarms of New Year's revelers. On The Spot: New Year's Eve strikes a great balance between fun and gut-busting entertainment, and a very funny place to ring in 2014.

"Whose Line is it Anyway" is the most familiar version of game based improv, and many of the games in "On The Spot" are similar. And like "Whose Line..." this show features a cast of close friends. The cast is throwing a party for the audience complete with noisemakers, party hats, and a heck of a good time.

"The New Year's Eve show is always a blast." Artistic Director Eric Farone said. "It's not only a blast for The Players, because the audience participates by giving suggestions, and any adventurous audience members can join The Players onstage for a couple of games."

On The Spot on New Year's Eve plays Tuesday December 31st at 4:00 pm for families, 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. at Bovine Metropolis Theater located at 1527 Champa Street in the heart of the Denver Theatre District. Tickets are $20 for the 4:00 p.m. show and $30 for the 7:30 and 10:00 p.m. show at the door or over the phone. The Bovine is an improv organization that teaches and performs theatrical improvisation, which is the art of accepting the unknown gracefully.
