Dezart Performs Brings the Touching Tale CHAPATTI to the Desert to Close Out Season

Dezart Performs brings to the stage CHAPATTI, a touching tale of the redemption found through friendship between human beings and the deep bond found in the companionship of our four-legged friends, for the final eight performances of its 2016-17 season, March 31 through April 9.

Deftly written by Irish playwright Christian O'Reilly, CHAPATTI is an unlikely love story. This heartwarming comedy/drama, set in Dublin, Ireland, centers on two lonely animal-lovers for whom romance is but a distant memory. When forlorn Dan and his dog Chapatti cross paths with the amiable Betty and her nineteen cats, an unexpected spark begins a warm and gentle story about two people re-discovering the importance of human companionship.

CHAPATTI made its world premiere in 2014 at Chicago's Northlight Theatre, directed by BJ Jones and starring Penny Slusher and the much-heralded TV, film, and Tony Award-winning stage actor, John Mahoney, two of Chicago's finest actors.

Directed by Dezart Performs Artistic Director Michael Shaw (CASA VALENTINA, CLYBOURNE PARK), CHAPATTI stars Dale Morris (critically-acclaimed "Charlotte" in Dezart Performs' recent production of CASA VALENTINA) and Dana Hooley (recipient of the 2014 Craig Noel Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play). Set design by Thomas Valach with lighting by Phil Murphy. The production is co-produced by Michael Shaw and Clark Dugger.

Performance run March 31 - April 9, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays @ 2:00 p.m at The Pearl McManus Theater (located at the historic Palm Springs Woman's Club) 314 S.
