The partnership of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg changed the course of musical theater when the songwriters created LES MISERABLES. Now, the best fruits of their musical collaboration are coming to the Philippines in Do You Hear the People Sing?, a concert like no other featuring music from their masterpieces: the unforgettable LES MISERABLES, Miss Saigon, Martin Guerre, The Pirate Queen and La Révolution Française.

Witness a stellar cast: Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, who has played Kim in Miss Saigon and both Eponine and Fantine in LES MISERABLES; David Harris, one of the most acclaimed leading men in Australia; and Marie Zamora, the acclaimed French soprano who was the original Cosette in the Paris production of LES MISERABLES. David and Marie will be performing in the Philippines for the first time. Joining them are International Artists who have performed in Miss Saigon shows across the globe, the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra and a 100-member choir, all under the musical direction of Gerard Salonga.

Additionally, as announced on Lea Salonga's official Facebook page, a special alumni ensemble that will be formed for the shows to perform alongside the previously announced cast and choir.

This exciting event will be staged for the very first time here in the Philippines, only at Resorts World Manila, after successfully touring across the globe. Do You Hear the People Sing? has been well received across the Americas, having toured in Mexico and various states in the US. In Asia, Shanghai Grand Theatre recently celebrated its 15th anniversary with a special production of this worldwide sensation.

Fully supported by Boublil and Schonberg, Enda Markey and IMG Artists, the Philippine shows on January 29 and 30, 2013, 8pm at the Newport Performing Arts Theater will mark the first time that this show will be staged as a benefit concert. All the artists are performing pro bono to support a worthy cause: proceeds shall go to rebuilding programs for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda. With your support, the event hopes to raise funds with the goal of building 200 homes in areas ravaged by the typhoon, through Habitat for Humanity Philippines.
