Former American Songbook Youth Ambassador Annie Yokom will join multi-platinum selling, five-time Grammy-nominated entertainer Michael Feinstein for a Frank Sinatra centennial celebration at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts. The event takes place Saturday, October 24th, as a season kick-off event.

Annie, who hails from Chicago, Illinois, was the winner of the 2010 Great American Songbook Academy. She has performed in summer stock productions across the country, as well as with Michael Feinstein at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. A recent graduate of the musical theatre program at Carnegie Mellon University, Annie now resides in New York City.

"My time at the Songbook Academy was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. To work with mentors like Michael Feinstein and Sylvia McNair on interpreting and singing the music of the Great American Songbook was an incredible opportunity," Annie said. "And now, to share the stage with Michael again is a dream come true."

Michael Feinstein founded the Great American Songbook Foundation in 2007 in order to preserve, promote, and perpetuate the music of the Great American Songbook to future generations. The work of the Songbook Foundation includes educational programming, a reference library, archive and gallery, the Great American Songbook Hall of Fame, and the annual high school Songbook Academy.

"I created the Songbook Academy to foster young artists who have an interest in the American Songbook, which includes the music of classic Broadway, Jazz standards, and popular music. Through this program, we are reaching a new generation to teach the music of the American Songbook and the history that inspired and influenced its composers," said Michael Feinstein, founder of the program and the organization called the Great American Songbook Foundation. "Annie Yokom has been a wonderful Ambassador for the Songbook Foundation. She is a talented musician with great natural instincts, and that cannot be learned," said Feinstein.

Michael Feinstein will perform a rousing celebration of Frank Sinatra, singing splendid musical arrangements of the greatest hits of Ol' Blue Eyes! The show is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 7:30 pm. Tickets may be purchased at the Walt Whitman Theatre, 2900 Avenue H, Brooklyn, New York or online at www.BrooklynCenter.org.
