Just yesterday, original, former and current members of the Chicago cast gathered at the Ambassador Theatre for a family photo on the actual date that Chicago opened 20 years ago. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the special day below!

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theater Festival, just honored Tony and Grammy Award winning composer and lyricist Duncan Sheik, Casting Director Tara Rubin, and former NYMF Board Member and Treasurer Frank Troutman at its 2016 Gala hosted by Mo Rocca last night at the Edison Ballroom.

While high belters rule Broadway today, during Broadway's Golden Age the baritone was king - which means that the great male numbers written by the likes of Irving Berlin, Rodgers & Hart, Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Gershwins, Sigmund Romberg, Cole Porter, and others of their iconic ilk, were largely written for baritones. But William Michals is the one Broadway star of today who is the singular baritone born for that great music.

On November 11, 2016 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, continued its 34th season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with Concert for Courage, a program that will commemorate Veterans Day by honoring the brave men and women of the nation's armed forces. The orchestra was joined by The Soldiers' Chorus of The U.S. Army Field Band in performances of patriotic songs and classic Americana for a jubilant celebration of those who are serving and have served the United States of America.

Just last night, Tectonic Theater Project celebrated Tectonic At 25!, a benefit performance celebrating 25 years of groundbreaking theater. The star-studded evening, directed by Tectonic Theater Project founder Moises Kaufman and hosted by and starring two-time Academy Award winner Jane Fonda, took place at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place, New York, NY 10012). 

The RENT 20th Anniversary Tour, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning landmark rock musical written by Jonathan Larson, stars Danny Kornfeld as 'Mark Cohen,' Kaleb Wells as 'Roger Davis,' Skyler Volpe as 'Mimi Marquez,' AaRon Harrington as 'Tom Collins,' David Merino as 'Angel Dumott Schunard,' Katie LaMark as 'Maureen Johnson,' Jasmine Easler as 'Joanne Jefferson, and Christian Thompson as 'Benny Coffin III.' The production just opened in Long Island, and BroadwayWorld has photos below!

Cagney, the hit musical about James Cagney currently playing at The Westside Theater, Upstairs, celebrated the release of its original New York cast recording with a special live performance and CD signing at Barnes & Noble, Upper East Side, 150 East 86th St. (at Lexington Ave), on Thursday.

The Mavericks have had a busy 2016. The group has been touring all over the United States. The Mavericks reunited to record 'In Time' after an eight-year hiatus while they worked on solo projects. 

On October 22nd, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, joined forces with Broadway, TV, and film stars Megan Hilty and Brian d'Arcy James at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post. The performance is Tilles Center's annual benefit Gala, and honored LIU Post alumni Lisa and Rob Arning, and BroadwayWorld was there to capture photos of the special event!

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, continued its 11th Season with its 117th concert presentation of George Bernard Shaw's On The Rocks, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

Philadelphia Theatre Company will soon present the freshly reconceived new musical comedy Found, with a book by Hunter Bell and Lee Overtree and music and original lyrics by Eli Bolin, which will play from November 9 through December 11, 2016 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre.

Best in Shows, a star-studded cabaret evening benefitting the Humane Society of New York, was held last night at Feinstein's/ 54 Below. Tom Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, was awarded the Humane Society of New York's Sandy Fund Award, in recognition of his deep concern and support of the needs of rescued animals, presented by Tony Award-winning actress and animal rights champion Bernadette Peters.
