Vladimir Zeldin, a Russian thespian and the world's oldest Working Theatre actor, has died at the age of 101, according to recent reports. Mr. Zeldin's wife, Ivetta Kapralova, confirmed the news this morning.

Mr. Zeldin breakthrough role was a shepherd in THEY MET IN MOSCOW. He was slated to make a stage appearance next month. Over his career, he appeared in numerous films during the 1940s. He's best known for his stage work in recent years.

Born February 10, 1915 in Kozlov, Tambov Governorate, Russian Empire, Vladimir Zeldin's screen credits include TEN LITTLE INDIANS (1987) and DUENYA (1978) among numerous others.

Mr. Zeldin is also the winner of a Nika Award, the People's Artist of the Republic Award and the People's Artist of the USSR Award.
