TRULY, HOWARD HUGHES and More Set For York Theatre's 2026-27 Season
The lineup will also include Kilgallen and the return of the New2NY series.
The York Theatre has announced its 2026-2027 season, which will feature world premiere musicals, a new partnership with TheaterWorksUSA, and the return of the New2NY series. The season will kick off in September with Truly, Howard Hughes.
Tickets are on sale for members now through May 7. Ticket sales open to the public on May 7.

World Premiere Musical
September 9 - October 4, 2026
TRULY, HOWARD HUGHES is an unconventional love story following one of the 20th century's most fascinating figures: aviator, filmmaker, businessman, and recluse, Howard Robard Hughes, Jr.. The story unfolds as Hughes revisits his extraordinary life during his final moments, confronting the one thing his power and fortune could never secure, and leaves us with a haunting question: ...Wouldn't you, if you could?
The musical features a book by Frank Evans, Jennifer Paulson-Lee & James Scully, with music by James Scully, and lyrics by Frank Evans and Chad Gorn. The production is directed and choreographed by Jennifer Paulson-Lee.
Kilgallen

KILGALLEN is a true crime musical about Dorothy Kilgallen, the most powerful female journalist of the 1950s. Brilliant, relentless, and unapologetically ambitious, Kilgallen moved among the celebrities, politicians, and power brokers who defined her era. When President Kennedy was assassinated, she became convinced that the truth was being buried, and set out to prove it. Even as she realized her life was in danger, she forged ahead. Dorothy died under suspicious circumstances on November 7, 1965. The mystery remains unsolved today.
The musical features book, music, and lyrics by Chuck Strand with additional music by George Petersen.
New2NY
March 6 - April 11, 2027
The New2NY Series is where new musicals take their first steps in New York. The series will feature three new titles, to be announced.
For nearly two decades, New2NY has served as a vital launching pad for new work. March 6 through April 11, 2027 be among the first to experience new musicals and help to shape what comes next. These lovingly and minimally staged concert presentations strip away the spectacle and focus on what matters: the writing, the music, and the storytelling.
The series has a strong track record of successful transfers, including In Transit prior to its Broadway run, and most recently Monte Cristo and Truly, Howard Hughes, which went on to The York’s Mainstage Series.
