Telemundo Station Group today announced that Javier I. Ortiz has been named Vice President of Human Resources for the division. A seasoned human resources leader, Ortiz will oversee all human resources functions for Telemundo's 17 owned stations in the United States and Puerto Rico, reporting into Manuel Martinez, President of the Telemundo Station Group.
"Javier's experience in Spanish-language television and his first-hand knowledge of our stations make him the right person to lead our human resources team," said Martinez. "Under his leadership, I know we will recruit the best talent to our stations as we grow and expand, and maintain and motivate our already strong workforce." Ortiz has been with Telemundo since 2007, most recently as Director of Human Resources for Telemundo Networks, where he has provided human resources support to the News, Alternative Programming, Sports and Programming groups for the last three years. Before that, he was Telemundo's Director of Human Resources for Organization and Staffing, successfully leading several corporate initiatives for both the network and the stations, including the employee survey and feedback process and various talent development programs. Ortiz started his career with Telemundo as Human Resources Manager, supporting KTMD in Houston and KVDA in San Antonio; his role eventually grew to include KBLR in Las Vegas and KDEN in Denver as well.Videos
