The Production Company proudly brings Jonathan Tolins' evocative The Twilight of the Golds to their just-remodeled intimate stage this February featuring a magnificent cast and directed by the masterful T L Kolman.

Introducing the Golds: Phyllis and Walter are comfortable, liberal Jewish parents with a gay son, David (a set designer infatuated with Wagner's Ring Cycle), and an under-achieving married daughter Suzanne, both of whom they adore. Meet Suzanne's husband Rob: A genetic researcher whose recent breakthrough allows him to unlock the genetic code of unborn offspring ...which leads to the dilemma: At their anniversary gathering Suzanne announces to Rob and her family that she's pregnant. Shortly thereafter her husband brings home the news that his testing has determined that their child will be born gay. An incredible debate ensues about nothing less than the morality of parents picking-and-choosing their children and the ominous consequences of that choice. Would David be here if his parents had known his genetic destiny? Would Suzanne? And what will Suzanne and Rob decide to do with this awesome knowledge? In the wake of recent legal questions about individual rights and the ever-expanding dawn of genetic discovery, Mr. Tolins' play may well stand more relevant now than when initially written.

The outstanding cast includes breathtaking performances from Eli Kranski as David (starring recently in the feature film Holding Trevor among many film and stage credits), Mark L. Taylor as Walter (recently nominated 'Best Supporting Actor' for his work in Jonathan Tolins' Secrets of the Trade and known for a multitude of film and television credits), Penny Peyser as Phyllis (seen onstage at The Circle in The Square and The Matrix and in many feature films and television works), Gretchen Koerner as Suzanne (returning after triumphant reviews in The Production Company's O Jerusalem and Celebration Theatre's Coffee Will Make You Black) and Bryan Okes Fuller as Rob (seen recently in CSI: New York, Ugly Betty, and Vanished).

Director T L Kolman is a founding member and Associate Artistic Director of The Production Company. T L is best known locally for his direction of The Attic Theatre's all-Critic's Pick production of The Shadow Box starring the inimitable Travis Michael Holder. His directing credits include Agnes of God, Ordinary People and many other potent stage classics. The Production Company was recently honored with 7 Ovation-Award nominations, 10 StageSceneLA 'Bests', and 7 Entertainment Today Honorable Mentions for its 2007-2008 season, and Mr. Tolins' recent play Secrets of the Trade was awarded several Ovations in the same season.
