THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT opens today at Artscape

Beatrix Potter's delightful story for children, THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT, will be at Artscape Theatre Foyer during the April Easter school holiday, presented by Stagecraft Drama Studio.

Mrs Rabbit lives in her cosy burrow underneath the roots of a very big fir-tree. She has four little children, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail who are good little bunnies, and Peter, who is sometimes a bit naughty! Their neighbour, Mr McGregor, grows carrots, radishes and lettuce in his garden. The rabbit family would love to go into Mr McGregor's garden to eat the yummy vegetables but Mrs Rabbit had forbids her family to go into his garden as their father had had an 'accident' there. One day Peter decides to go exploringand instead of going to school, he goes to Mr McGregor's garden.

THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT is adapted by Dudley Glass and directed by Cheryl Abromowitz. Emma-Rose Blacher plays the title role of Peter Rabbit. Come and join in the fun and help the flopsy bunnies to help Peter escape from Mr McGregor's clutches.

The season opens today, 28 March, at 10:30 in the Artscape Theatre Foyer. Tickets cost R70. Audiences for the performance on Saturday, 4 April, are invited to dress up as rabbits and join the parade after the performance. Consult Computicket or Artscape Dial-a-Seat (021 421 7695) for times of performances for this very short season.
