Narrated by Executive Producer Anthony Bourdain, and winner of the 2014 Emmy Award for Outstanding Culinary Program, THE MIND OF A CHEF is a rare and beautiful thing: an intelligent television show about cooking. Season Three of the James Beard and Emmy Award-winning series from Zero Point Zero Production and presented by WGBH Boston on PBS goes into the minds of chefs Edward Lee and Magnus Nilsson, and will follow these two great culinary figures from the kitchens they call home to their travels around the world in search of ingredients, inspiration, and the perfect meal.

The second half of season three of THE MIND OF A CHEF will feature chef Magnus Nilsson in eight all-new episodes, to kick off Saturday, November 1 on select PBS stations, and will subsequently premiere in nearly every PBS market this fall and winter (check local listings).

There is no one, absolutely no one, as 'out there' ? figuratively, and quite literally - as Magnus Nilsson,? said Narrator and Executive Producer Anthony Bourdain. ?He sets a new bar for commitment and for creativity. In a room full of the best chefs in the world, all eyes will be on him."

As in season one and season two, which featured chefs David Chang, Sean Brock, and April Bloomfield, season three of THE MIND OF A CHEF continues to combine cooking, travel, history, humor, art, and Science into a cinematic-style journey, with each episode going deep into inspirations and the creative drive behind the greatest minds in the culinary world.

"Magnus Nilsson?s eight episodes on this season of THE MIND OF A CHEF are a great example of how the series pushes the traditional boundaries of food television," said Executive Producer Joe Caterini. "Magnus was able to give us an all-access look at his restaurant Fäviken in Sweden, and allowed us to document his world to help understand what goes into maintaining what some say is the most creative and surprising restaurant on the planet. We are excited to share this unique story.?

Also later in the season, Chef Nilsson will return to Paris and explore how his early cooking experiences there have influenced him, will focus on local ingredients in his Scandinavian homeland Sweden and nearby Norway, will show viewers how to make the most of ingredients at their freshest and preserving them in creative ways, and head deep into the Atlantic Ocean to explore rarely-documented, traditional Nordic culinary techniques in the Faroe Islands.

During the first half of the season, chef Edward Lee had traveled, cooked, and met up with friends and colleagues such as ramen master Ivan Orkin, Pok Pok?s Andy Ricker, TOP CHEF Paul Qui, Actress and Comedienne Aisha Tyler, Pascal Barbot, and more.

"This season we are especially privileged to have the two incredible chefs who open their minds and their kitchens to us,? said Laurie Donnelly, WGBH Executive Producer of Lifestyle Productions. ?Ed Lee brings history and heritage to the table in unexpected new ways, and Magnus Nilsson grants our cameras unprecedented access to film at his world-ranked Fäviken, which will give American viewers a rare dining experience of this remote Swedish gem and the unusual experience he has created there.?

Seasons One and Two of THE MIND OF A CHEF were awarded a prestigious James Beard Foundation Award in 2013 and 2014 for Best Television Program, On Location. Season Two was awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Culinary Program in 2014. The new episodes of THE MIND OF A CHEF are available for immediate download and viewing on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Google Play beginning Monday, November 3. The Magnus Nilsson episodes of THE MIND OF A CHEF will also be available to purchase on DVD at ShopPBS.org and other retail outlets starting Tuesday, December 9.
