Author Pansy Ferrell Latta Dodson was born in the early 1920s. Having lived through the Great Depression and World War II, Dodson witnessed more transformations in the world than many could ever imagine. Inspired by her granddaughter, Alison, who she would often share her stories with, Dodson is proud to present her new autobiography, "Dear Alison, The Road Long Traveled" (published by WestBow Press).

Dodson begins her book with her earliest memories of being held as a child, and chronicles her entire life journey, ending in the present day. The entire book is broken into letters written to her granddaughter.

Dodson pays tribute to her granddaughter for her inspiration, to God for her faith, strength and hope, and to her loved ones for enriching her life.

Dodson hopes her book will serve not only as a memento for her granddaughter, but also to inspire other parents and grandparents to write their own stories for their loved ones, present and future.

An excerpt from "Dear Alison, The Road Long Traveled":

"In my first memory, I was about two and a half, and my grandfather was holding me. My father and mother both worked at the Golden Belt textile mill in Durham, North Carolina. My sister, older brother, and I stayed with my grandparents while our parents worked."
