Original 'Flash' John Wesley Shipp to Guest Star on The CW's THE FLASH

Variety writes that John Wesley Shipp, TV's original Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash, will appear in a recurring guest starring role in The CW's upcoming pilot THE FLASH.

The project, also from Warner Bros., will follow Barry Allen, also known as The Flash, "as a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling City to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past."

Tom Cavanagh, Candice Patton (THE GAME) and ONCE's Carlos Valdes recently signed on to co-star opposite Grant Gustin, Broadway vet Jesse L. Martin, Rick Gosnett and Danielle Panabake in the upcoming CW pilot, based on the DC comic.

Shipp's upcoming big screen projects include Golden Shoes and The Sector. He also recently appeared in Sensory Perception, Hell and Mr. Fudge and Separation Anxiety. His TV credits include Teen Wolf, One Life to Live, Palmetto Pointe, JAG, Dawson's Creek, Sisters, and of course, The Flash.
