Hope Davis and WEEDS' Justin Kirk are heading into WAYWARD PINES.

According to The Hollywood Reproter, the pair have booked recurring roles on Fox's upcoming event series slated for a premiere in 2014, joining Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, Juliette Lewis, an Melisa Leo. Based on the best-selling novel "Pines" by Blake Crouch and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan ("The Sixth Sense," "Signs"), WAYWARD PINES is the intense new mind-bending event thriller evocative of the classic cult hit "Twin Peaks."

Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, "Crash," "City of Ghosts") is tasked to head to the secluded town of Wayward Pines, ID, to find two missing federal agents, one Being his former partner and romantic interest Kate Hewson (Gugino). Challenged at every turn by the town's die-hard residents, no communication with the outside world, and no way out, Ethan's investigation only turns up more questions, the most important of which is: What's wrong with Wayward Pines?

Set for multiple episodes, "Davis will play Megan Fisher, a teacher at Wayward Pines Academy, while Kirk will portray Peter McCall, an unassuming Realtor in Wayward Pines."

WAYWARD PINES is a production of FX Productions. The series is created and written by Chad Hodge ("The Playboy Club," "Runaway") and executive-produced by Shyamalan, Hodge, Donald De Line ("Green Lantern," "The Italian Job") and Ashwin Rajan ("After Earth").

Davis most recently completed a stint on Aaron Sorkin's HBO drama THE NEWSROOM. She also appeared in THE SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP, portraying another respected female politico, Hillary Clinton. Last pilot season, Davis lead CBS' drama THE ORDAINED, which was ultimately not picked up to series.

As previously reported, Kirk will lead FX's new pilot TYRANT, and can be seen on next week's episode of NBC's breakout drama THE BLACKLIST. His recent credits include NBC's Animal Practice, an arc on Modern Family as 'Charlie Bingham', an award-worthy turn in HBO's Angels in America, and more. He will next appear in Walter and is lending his voice to Justice League: War. Kirk is best known for his role on Showtime's WEEDS. Kirk has also appeared on Broadway in Other Desert Cities, Love! Valour! Compassion! and Any Given Day, as well as off-Broadway's The Understudy.
