After touring the world with The Vaudevillians, RuPaul's Drag Race favorite and Bistro Award nominee Jinkx Monsoon makes her much anticipated return to New York with JINKX MONSOON: THE INEVITABLE CONCERT. Monsoon will appear live with her band, premiering an evening of songs from her upcoming CD, The Inevitable Album. The CD will be released the week of the show and will available to buy at the theatre. Performances run May 8 - 11 at 7pm at The Laurie Beechman Theater (inside West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd Street -- at Ninth Avenue, accessible from the A,C,E,N,R,V,F,1,2,3 trains at 42nd Street). Tickets are $25 (plus a $15 food/drink minimum). A $50 VIP ticket including priority seating and meet-and-greet is also available. To purchase tickets, call 212-352-3101 or visit www.SpinCycleNYC.com.

Inspired by Bette Midler's The Divine Miss M, The Inevitable Album features a guest appearance by Fred Schneider (B-52's), who wrote one of the original songs for the album, and who Jinkx and M. Scales both refer to as "a personal hero." "The album also has many send ups to my favorite influences," notes Jinkx, name-checking Billie Holiday, Patsy Cline, Amanda Palmer, Marlene Dietrich, Cole Porter, and vodka on the rocks. "We concocted an album that is a cohesive mixture of classic and contemporary." The first single, "Coffee & Wine," a tongue-in-cheek little song about chemical dependency written and arranged by Jinkx's musical co-conspirator Major Scales was released earlier this month.

Jinkx Monsoon is the alter ego of Jerick Hoffer, who graduated with a degree in theatrical performance from Cornish College in Seattle. With ten years experience on stage, Hoffer is a seasoned Portland-born entertainer who has captured the attention of his native northwest region. As early as 2006, Hoffer appeared as the lead dancer in the world's largest drag queen chorus line, which made the Guinness Book of World Records. By 2012, he had advanced to roles in Seattle theaters, playing Moritz in "Spring Awakening" (produced by Balagan Theatre) and Angel in "Rent" (produced by The 5th Avenue Theatre). Earlier this year, Hoffer played Hedwig in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (produced by Balagan Theatre and Seattle Theatre Group) and co-starred with Peaches Christ in the much-buzzed-about Return to Grey Gardens.
