Hear songs fromThe Band’s VisitcomposerDavid Yazbek‘s upcoming new album, performed by the award-winning composer and a band of stalwart musical giants from his career. The night will also include a few songs fromDead Outlaw,with Tony®-nominated special guestAndrew Durand, Broadway’s very own Elmer McCurdy, and the show’s co-writer,Erik Della Penna, as well as favorites from Yazbek’s other shows and albums. David Yazbek’s Broadway credits include music and lyrics forThe Band’s Visit(10 Tony®Awards),Dead Outlaw,Tootsie,Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,The Full Monty, Larry David’sFish In The Dark,The Roommate, andBuena Vista Social Club(Producer/Creative Consultant). Solo albums includeThe Laughing Man,Tock,Damascus!,Tape Recorder, andEvil Monkey Man. He is currently completing a new album and continues to perform with his band.The New York Timescalled him “A daredevil juggler catching spiked pins in the traveling carnival of his imagination.“ He has co-produced all of his cast albums includingThe Band’s Visit(Grammy Award). TV and film: “Boardwalk Empire,” “Late Night with David Letterman” (Emmy Award Best Writing), hundreds of songs, including the infamous “Carmen Sandiego” Theme. Dozens of scripts for episodic TV. In the works are a new musical with Jeffrey Lane, aDead Outlawdocumentary film and other secret exciting stuff. Yazbek has received every major American Theater award, many grants and honors and, most recently, a successful colonoscopy from Digestive Disease Associates of Rockland.
