MERELY MARVELOUS: THE SONGS OF GWEN VERDON To Play The Laurie Beechman Theater
Encore performance will feature performer Judi Mark performing songs from DAMN YANKEES, CHICAGO, and SWEET CHARITY.
Judi Mark will return to The Laurie Beechman Theater for an encore performance of her 2025 BroadwayWorld-nominated show, Merely Marvelous: The Songs of Gwen Verdon, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 7:00 PM.
The concert will honor four-time Tony Award winner Gwen Verdon and her Broadway career, featuring songs from Damn Yankees, Redhead, Sweet Charity, and Chicago. Mark will be accompanied by music director Dan Pardo on piano and Leon “Boots” Maleson on bass, with a special guest appearance by Ken Bloom, producer of the documentary Merely Marvelous: The Dancing Genius of Gwen Verdon.
Selections will include “If My Friends Could See Me Now,” “Roxie,” “Whatever Lola Wants,” “Where Am I Going?,” “I've Got the World on a String,” “Ain't Misbehavin',” “The Saga of Jenny,” “Feelin' Groovy,” “I'm a Brass Band,” and “Two Lost Souls,” among others.
ABOUT
Judi Mark is known to New York audiences for performances at The Laurie Beechman Theater, Don’t Tell Mama, and The Triad. Merely Marvelous: The Songs of Gwen Verdon has played to sold-out crowds at the Delray Beach Playhouse in Florida and in Chicago. She has created five solo shows, including Dancing Through My Life, which she also self-produced. Judi has performed at The Madison Theater in Rockville Center, New York, in musical revues such as Showtune, The World Goes Round, Back to the 20's, The Melody Lingers On, and Blame It on The Movies, sharing the stage with Anita Gillette, Kathryn Crosby, and Marilyn Maye. A professional dancer, singer, actor, producer, and educator for over four decades, Judi has performed across the U.S. on concert stages, in Off-Broadway theaters, regional theaters, and cabarets. Born in Chicago, she trained in ballet, modern dance, jazz, and tap, and has performed with The American Ballet Theatre at The Met in Lincoln Center over several seasons. As an actress, she has appeared in film and television, and has spent many years teaching and training stage performers in New York.
ABOUT Gwen Verdon
Gwen Verdon rose to fame in Damn Yankees, becoming a “triple threat” performer and a four-time Tony Award winner. Her performance in Damn Yankees was filmed in 1958 alongside Tab Hunter. Other musicals featuring Verdon include Redhead, New Girl in Town, and Can-Can. She was married to Bob Fosse, the Academy Award-winning director and choreographer, and was a central collaborator on projects including Sweet Charity and Chicago.
