Detroit Opera House has annouced the 2011-2012 Opera Season, starting with the company premiere of CARMINA BURANA in October.

Never before seen on the Opera House stage, CARMINA BURANA is a scenic cantata composed by Carl Orff, based on 24 poems found in the medieval collection by the same name. The performance begins and ends with 'O Fortuna," a complaint to the Roman goddess of fate.

The Detroit Opera House will also be hosting THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO, Bizet's THE PEARL FISHERS, I PAGLIACCI, BAD BOYS OF DANCE, THE NUTCRACKER, AND SWAN LAKE.
