Author Angeline Duran sets two lovers in the seductive, dazzling world of fashion and under the Acapulco sun, a tantalizing Latin American mystique woven through the novel's pages. Michelle Newbarry, a ravishing beauty and fashion director of the oldest and largest department store in the country, and Adolfo Rey de Cortez, handsome unrepentant playboy, billionaire heir to Cortez Enterprises, enter into a tumultuous affair in Duran's passionate, moving new novel entitled "Heaven's Gift (Regalo del Cielo)."

Adolfo has been relentless in his attempt to persuade Michelle to marry him and refuses to accept defeat. She is reluctant, aware of his well-known reputation as a playboy. There are other mysterious reasons that she refuses to disclose to him or anyone else. However, with great trepidation, she accepts Adolfo's proposal of marriage. The romance, played under the strict and formal eyes of the wealthy, has unfolded with an unremitting, truthful passion in times when the two lovers have found themselves alone:

Kissing the open palm of her soft hand, he held it close to his face and whispered her name. Opening her eyes, she didn't appear frightened. She sensed it was Adolfo..."Michelle...Please forgive me." He took a deep breath. "Seeing you again tonight, I can't explain it... It's just that..." The tone of his voice changed. "Damn it! You know what I mean."...Michelle never imagined she would ever see him so vulnerable, so tormented. His defenses were crumbling before her. With his last words echoing in her ears and finding their way into her heart, she reached up and drew him towards her..."

A spectacular wedding is planned on the Cortez estate in Spain - but the night before the wedding, Michelle dreams a ghostly dream of Neil Newbarry, the man she believed all her life to be her father, who committed suicide when she was a child. This was a great burden she kept until her mother revealed the true circumstances behind her birth, her true patrimony. Michelle was made to carry an even greater burden - her secrets have kept her secretly in doubt about many things in her life. Yet, she has always loved Neil Newbarry, and the dream could not have come at a more sensitive time. Will Michelle be able to find the strength to completely open her heart to Adolfo? The answer is spectacularly colored icing to this rich confection that Duran offers to all those who have awoken to love.
