In a faraway kingdom exists a troupe of performers and their deadly ruler – King Dieudoné – an unwavering maniac who has forced them to perform the same play, night after night, for the rest of their days: the vain dramatisation of his own life. However, one fateful day, Dieudoné decides that this show has run its natural course and that he no longer has use for these sorry players. In a desperate bid to save their skin, the players offer up an entirely different play; a play that does not yet exist, that this dysfunctional team will now have to create… Touching on themes of censorship, creation and unity, Hideout Theatre presents a new black comedy that will be sure to keep you both laughing and considering our own place in making true change.
