Have you ever wanted to critique the critics?  

LPTM has run a competition amongst its reviewers for one full length play and three short plays to be performed as rehearsed readings with a cast of professional actors to include Artistic Directors from pub theatres.  

Join us for this celebration of LPTM writers' plays, with award-winning Matthew Parker and three other fabulous directors.  

 

ACT I

THE FINAL CUT by Nilgün Yusuf, directed by award winning Matthew Parker 

When hairdresser, Tina agrees to give Gladys, her oldest and most loyal customer, one final cut, it’s an endeavour beset with complications. For a start, Gladys is no longer alive and laid out in a funeral parlour. And, a cut and blow dry is not so straightforward when rigor mortis has already set in. Will Tina be able to restore Gladys to her former glory? And will Barry, Gladys’s heartbroken son finally be able grieve and move forward with his life?

ACT II

LOBBY by Carol Saint Martin, directed by David Weir

A hotel lobby. An alarm that keeps going off. A clueless receptionist. And a man who just wants a room. What could go wrong?

WAITING FOR THE ALL CLEAR by Andy Curtis, directed by Harry Conway

1941, Bethnal Green. The Blitz is raging outside, but Ellen has a pub to run. With the men gone, she finally has some independence. But will she be able to get through the night? 

CAST: Isabella Heaver, Tom Vernon 

 

EGGS IS EGGS by Nilgün Yusuf, directed by Anna Clart

This funny and dark, one-woman, domestic noir sees Jean reflect on her long marriage with Albert and conclude that revenge is a dish best served…boiled.
