Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton Directed by Lotte Wakeham
Step into the spotlight for a grand revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical. Bringing together the drama of Old Hollywood and a soaring score, Sunset Boulevard comes to Northampton in a brand new production.
Once a star of silent cinema, Norma Desmond longs to reclaim her place in the spotlight. When struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis enters her secluded world, their lives become entwined in a story of ambition, obsession and the cost of fame.
Featuring songs including With One Look, As If We Never Said Goodbye and Sunset Boulevard, this new production brings audiences close to the music and the characters at the heart of the story.

Many words have already been written about whether Nicole Scherzinger, the American actress, ex-Pussycat Doll and X Factor judge, is the right choice to play Norma Desmond, the reclusive silent movie star who dreams of a comeback. Desmond has lost the limelight, whereas Scherzinger remains a global superstar. As it happens, it is just one of many inspired choices in Jamie Lloyd’s dazzling revival.
