After taking the West End by storm — where it became summer 2025’s biggest hit, selling out night after night – Burlesque A BIG New Musical is coming to Northampton for January 2027.
From executive producer Christina Aguilera and written by Steven Antin, based on the hit movie, Burlesque invites you to a club like no other: a hidden world beneath the city lights where sequins sparkle, seduction shimmers and lives can change in the flick of a feather boa.
When Ali arrives in New York searching for the mother she never knew, she stumbles upon a dazzling underground scene alive with music, movement, and mystery. Drawn into this intoxicating world, she begins to uncover her extraordinary voice — and finds an unexpected family of dreamers, misfits and schemers who will change her life forever.
Burlesque is a scintillating journey of self-discovery that absolutely sizzles, featuring powerhouse songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia and Diane Warren, alongside thrilling new numbers from Todrick Hall and Jess Folley.
Burlesque The Musical has cancelled performances on August 18, 19 and 20. This new cancellation comes on the heels of a prior cancellation earlier this week, and postponements throughout the month.
The Monday, August 17th at 7:30pm performance of Burlesque the Musical has been cancelled due to illness in the cast. Sunderland Empire released a statement to their social media.
Olivier Award winner Cassidy Janson will play Tess Richarde in BURLESQUE THE MUSICAL at The Arts at Marble Arch, following the show's sold-out run at the Savoy Theatre.

Burlesque the Musical has finally arrived in London. Loosely based on the 2010 film starring Cher and Christina Aguilera, Burlesque moves from LA to New York, as small-town girl Ali comes to the big city to search for her birth mother. On the way she starts working in a burlesque club as a waitress, only to become (spoiler alert) the main act. So far, so predictable.
As Burlesque the Musical is set to begin previews this week, new rehearsal photos have been released. See photos here!
When Ali heads to the bright lights of New York in search of her mother, she finds herself drawn into a dazzling underground world where the beat of the music and the heat of the dance moves will change her life forever. Among this unlikely family of misfits, dreamers and schemers, Ali will unwittingly find her real voice, discover her talent, and find where she really, truly belongs.
