To celebrate its fourth decade, the Manassas Symphony presents a concert that showcases classical masterpieces inspired by rich folk traditions. Audience favorite David Pedraza returns to play the brilliant and evocative Viola Concerto in A minor by one of the most important composers of the 20th century, Hungarian composer and ethnomusicologist Béla Bartók. Pedraza was born in Reynosa, Mexico and received a full scholarship to Shenandoah Conservatory. He has performed across the globe, throughout North and South America, Europe, and the UK. Currently he is principal violist with Symphony of the Americas in Fort Lauderdale. The concert includes other folk-inspired works by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Manuel de Falla.
