Gerda and Kai are best friends they share everything together sweets, jokes, games and stories especially ones about the mysterious 'Lady in the Sky' who lives in a faraway palace made of ice. And some of the stories are silly, and some are a bit spooky, but they are only stories.Arent they?When Kai disappears after seeing a strange shape above the clouds, Gerda knows its all real. The Snow Queen has got her best mate and only she can rescue him by travelling to a world of weirdness and wonderment known as the Other Scarborough before he freezes forever.With the help of a grumpy reindeer, a Goth raven, a bunch of talking flowers, some unwise wisewomen (and the audience!), she might just make it but what does the Snow Queen have in store for her once she does?The team behind Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland and A (Scarborough) Christmas Carol return with a brand-new adventure!Featuring the incredible talents of SJT favourite Polly Lister (The Rise & Fall of Little Voice, Di and Viv and Rose), creating a cast of thousands to delight and amuse, this is Hans Christian Andersens classic fairy tale as youve never seen it before.Will it be ridiculous? The award-winning pop-up venue will be premiering three new plays in rep at Summerhall as part of Edinburgh Festival Fringe for the first time since 2019. As well as work from three trailblazing playwrights Dipo Baruwa-Etti, Sami Ibrahim and Laura Lindow, Summerhall will also see the return of Chris Bush's critically acclaimed play HUNGRY which premiered at Roundabout last year.
