Music to brighten up dark February days! A concert named after Martindale and Barbara Sidwell, who arrived 80 years ago to revive the splendid music tradition in Hampstead. Martindale brought the choir to international level, and Barbara was a highly respected professor of harpsichord. The still outstanding professional choir of Hampstead Parish Church and an Orchestra of Period Instruments directed by Geoffrey Webber will perform a varied program including Henry Purcell's "Come Ye Sons of Art", J.S. Bach's beautiful Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, and Benjamin Britten's "Rejoice in the Lamb". There will be refreshments afterwards to celebrate.
