Hypothetical Baby at Here For Now Theatre

Written and performed by Rachel Cairns and directed by Courtney Ch'ng Lancaster, this autobiographical one-person show mixes data and drama to publicly discuss abortion with neurotic vulnerability, unflinching honesty, and frank irreverence. The touching and hilarious piece grapples with the personal and societal factors shaping reproductive lives and the relationship between choice, change, and loss. Cairns, described by The Globe and Mail as one of the country's most original actors, delivers a searingly honest and nuanced performance on the topic of the right to abortion. This marks the show's first run outside Toronto following acclaimed productions with Nightwood and The Howland Company.
