Closing Time: At the Matador is a world premiere docu-concert created by Andrew Penner and Frank Cox-O'Connell, presented by Soulpepper Theatre Company as part of a two-part tribute to Toronto's most legendary lost music venues. Inspired by Leonard Cohen's "Closing Time," the piece blends live concert performance with documentary storytelling to trace the history and closure of the venues that shaped the city's cultural identity. Part of a larger double bill alongside Closing Time: At Maple Leaf Gardens, this production serves as a love letter to the rooms, artists, and communities that defined Toronto's musical life.
