What happens when you put writers, musicians and actors together in a room, with no time, no script, and a date locked in on a stage? Season 1 of Inkubation: The Music & Story Project.

Live music, high drama and blind creativity await anyone looking to take a plunge down a rabbit hole of raw unfiltered story juice - and it all launches on February 4 at the Social Capital Theatre in Toronto.

The project is about inspiring writers, actors and musicians to draw upon the best of their craft to birth new songs and scripts that would otherwise not exist, unless they had a metaphoric gun held to their heads.

"They say if you want to make a show happen, you book a theatre," said Jarrett Rusnak, a writer on the project, and member of the producing team. "If you book the theatre before there's even a script, it has a way of really focusing a team to create incredible, spontaneous art."

Modelled after the creative process of a TV Writing Room, collaboration began by bringing artists of various disciplines together. Ideas were pitched, and writers were paired with like-minded musicians. The collaborative teams then broke off to round out their ideas.

Artists in the #InkubationProject have worked, played and toured around the world.

"I was drawn to Inkubation as a way to access my creativity from a new angle," said Rachael Cardiello, a featured songwriter on the project. "I find that as a songwriter I tend to write primarily about myself and my own experiences. The ability to write for another's voice, to share another's story, is a skill I've long admired and been curious to try."

Four dates are booked at Social Capital Theatre in Toronto. Each show will cap with an intimate set performed by the featured singer/songwriter on each night.
