Throughout a career spanning seven decades, Arthur Kopit authored several award-winning stage works, beginning with Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mamma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad, which Jerome Robbins directed on Broadway while Kopit was still an undergraduate at Harvard.
St. Louis served as musical director or arranger for several Broadway productions, including Soon (1971), Grease (1972 and 2007), Over Here! (1974), Truckload (1975), Raggedy Ann (1986), Roza (1987), and Smokey Joe's Cafe (1995).

G.W. “Skip” Mercier (1954 – 2021) of Rowayton, CT—Skip to his many loving friends, students, and relations—died at home March 11th in the company of his family, of pancreatic cancer. He was born July 20th, 1954 in Methuen, MA to George and Margaret Condon Mercier and was raised in Haverhill, MA.
On February 10th, 2021 Broadway World San Antonio Editor, Kathy Strain, passed away in her home. Kathy had a remarkable way with words and a love of theatre. She used her talent to bless San Antonio with reviews of countless plays and musicals throughout the years. She especially loved interviewing actors and musicians as she had a special way of connecting with people. In addition to writing for BroadwayWorld, Kathy worked as an usher at both the Majestic Theatre and Tobin Center. She encouraged the next generation of writers as a writing tutor at Northwest Vista College.
Perhaps she was best known for her concerts at Carnegie Hall, which began in 1955. She performed benefit concerts every year on St. Patrick’s Day for more than two decades, and they all sold out.

Broadway has lost a marketing genius. David Risley, age 53, passed away on February 2nd, 2021. Risley had been working in the Internet arena for over twenty years developing websites and on-line marketing strategies for hundreds of theatrical projects.
Bill C. Davis passed away on February 26, 2021 after a brief illness. Bill was a playwright, author, actor, director and political activist, and was best known for his play Mass Appeal, which premiered at Manhattan Theatre Club and subsequently moved to Broadway in 1981.
Marilyn Joan Roberts, actress, and one of the original performers in the Off-Off Broadway theater movement in New York City during the 1960’s, passed away in January.
