Jacoba Knaapen, Toronto Alliance or the Performing Arts (TAPA) Executive Director and Dora Mavor Moore Awards Producer, announced the VIP presenters today for the 37th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, to be held on Monday, June 27 at Harbourfront Centre's open air Concert Stage (formerly WestJet Stage), a 1,300-seat venue covered by a transparent roof with open sides.

THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS have announced the industry coaches for the eighth annual awards ceremony on Monday, June 27th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan.

The Broadway League, the national trade organization for the commercial theatre industry, announces the 2016 League Educator Apple Award recipients. Now in its fourteenth year, the awards acknowledge the efforts of local teachers and advocates who support programs relating to Broadway or Touring Broadway shows, promoting further development of theatre education.

The Women's Forum of New York presents The 6th Annual Elly Awards Luncheon benefiting The Education Fund of the Women's Forum today, June 20th, at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. The awards, named for the Women's Forum founder Elinor Guggenheimer, will honor outstanding women leaders.

While most of us were glued to our TV's on Sunday night to soak in as much live theatre during the 70th Annual Tony Awards, the stars from some of the hottest Broadway shows including HAMILTON, WAITRESS, THE COLOR PURPLE, ON YOUR FEET were living it up backstage. 

The 2016 Tony Awards celebrated 70 years of honoring the best of Broadway last night at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. In addition to the class of 2016 Tony Nominees, the star-studded evening featured appearances by Cate Blanchett, Claire Danes, Common, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Glenn Close, Josh Groban, Jake Gyllenhaal, Neil Patrick Harris, Sean Hayes, James Earl Jones, Daniel Dae Kim, Carole King, Diane Lane, Nathan Lane, Angela Lansbury, Lucy Liu, Bebe Neuwirth, Saoirse Ronan, Keri Russell, Meg Ryan, Barbra Streisand, Oprah Winfrey and many more.

As ratings pour in for last night's 70th Annual TONY AWARDS, it appears that the James Corden-hosted ceremony was a record-breaking night for both the CBS network and the history of American theater.

During commercial breaks at last night's TONY AWARDS, host James Corden started up a Broadway-themed 'commercial karaoke', asking for volunteers from the audience to sing some of the most memorable tunes from the Great White Way.

Ratings for the 70th Annual TONY AWARDS, hosted by James Corden and featuring performances from the 16-time Tony nominated musical HAMILTON, rose by 33% year-to-year.

THE 70TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS, aired live from the Beacon Theatre, last night Sunday, June 12 on the CBS Television Network. After the ceremony is when the real fun started though, as most of the evening's celebrity guests headed to the annual Tonys Gala at the Plaza Hotel.
