The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts presents the award-winning musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the Ruth Eckerd Hall main stage. The production features an original score by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and a book by David Greig, along with songs from the 1971 film including The Candy Man, I've Got a Golden Ticket, Oompa Loompa Song, and Pure Imagination. The story follows young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners on a journey through Willy Wonka's world of chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels, and the great glass elevator. The production brings together local performers and production artists for performances on July 31 at 7pm and August 1 at 2pm and 7pm.
