The North Charleston Performing Arts Center's Best of Broadway series will host its annual  "Select Your Seat" open house party on Monday, June 3 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Broadway fans are invited to come out and "select their seats" for the 2019-2020 season. The party features Broadway music, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a wine tasting and backstage tours. Season ticket packages start at just $218.

CLOSING! Chapin Theatre Company presents DIXIE SWIM CLUB by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten. The production is directed by Ripley Thames and stars Tiffany Dinsmore, Meesh Hays, Zsuzsa Manna, Cathy Carter Scott, and Debra Haines Kiser. DIXIE SWIM CLUB opens Friday, April 26th and runs through Sunday, May 5th. Tickets are $18 for adults, $17 for seniors (60 and older), and $15 for youth (18 and under). Season Ticket Packages for Centre Stage's 2019-2020 season are on sale now. The 6 Mainstage show lineup features a variety of musicals, comedies, a Holiday variety show, and the annual hit rock show. The Prisma Health Fringe Series will return with 4 gripping pieces surrounding mental health topics. These shows occur on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during the runs of the Mainstage performances. Season ticket holders can purchase tickets before the general public through August 1. Season ticket packages start as low as $175.

Trustus Theatre brings its second Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Sweat by Lynn Nottage, to its stage this season. Sweat, the second most produced play in the United States this season, brings to light the harsh realities of what it's like to survive on minimum wage in one of the poorest cities in the country and the dissolution of the American dream. This play speaks to Columbia's history-once a regional textile manufacturing center with six mills in operation and 3,400 millworkers-and to how easily the American dream can be lost when the country's economy struggles.

The production is directed by Paul Lindley II with choreography by Lisa Sendler and stars an ensemble cast. THE THREE LITTLE PIGS opens Saturday, April 20 and runs through Sunday, April 28. Therefore, the 2019 Kimmie Awards will shine the spotlight on "Illustrious Women," proudly saluting individuals who promote the message that all women have unique gifts and attributes which make them illustrious.  To name a few of our honorees, the recipient of the Visionary Award is the beautiful and talented actress Megan Good, and television/music executive (creator of the Love N Hip Hop franchise) Mona Scott-Young will receive the Pinnacle Award.  Men, we did not leave you out, Roger M. Bobb (president and CEO of Bobbcat Films and former executive vice president of Tyler Perry Productions) will be presented with the Luminary Award, and award winning singer/songwriter Vedo will receive the Trailblazer Award.
