This production features the cream of La Rosa Spanish Dance Theatre’s musicians and dancers, who perform new choreographies created especially for this production by prominent Madrid-based Flamenco artist Eliezer Truco Pinillos ‘La Truco’. Tablao, meaning ‘wooden stage’ in Spanish, refers to the age-old style of traditional Spanish dance performance where flamenco artistes perform on a small piece of wooden floor or even tables. Tablao venues abound across Spain and are typically very small and intimate. The production explores the dynamics of a night at a Tablao – from the dancers and musicians to the waiters and audience members.
