Rose Theatre Kingston, The Original Theatre Company and Karl Sydow today announce the full cast and creative team for the first major revival of Stephen Jeffreys' Valued Friends. Michael Fentiman directs Natalie Casey (Sherry), Ralph Davis (Scott), Sam Frenchum (Paul), Michael Marcus (Howard), Catrin Stewart (Marion) and Nicolas Tennant (Stewart). The production opens at Rose Theatre Kingston on 26 September, with previews from 20 September, and runs until 12 October.

Direct from a European tour drag legends JOEY ARIAS & SHERRY VINE co-star in GARDEN OF SHE-DEN, a new evening of music and comedy at The Laurie Beechman Theater. One more chance to see it tonight 7pm at the Laurie Beechman. Tickets are $23 for general admission or $45 for VIP tickets which include reserved seating and a meet-and-greet. There is also a $20 food/drink minimum at all performances at this venue.

This morning, The Hollywood Reporter, along with presenting sponsor Lifetime, hosted their 27th annual Women in Entertainment breakfast at MILK Studios in Los Angeles. Speeches were given by Viola Davis, Kesha, Monica Lewinsky, Awkwafina, Lena Dunham, Lupita Nyong'o, Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Nina Jacobson and Hannah Gadsby at the event where college scholarships were awarded.

Jersey Boys, winner of the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical, is the authentic biographic story of the magic behind the music of worldwide megahit group, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. Featuring over 30 chart-topping hits, including fan favorites 'Sherry,' 'Big Girls Don't Cry,' 'Walk Like a Man' and 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You,' this Muny premiere is almost too good to be true, and will leave audiences saying, 'Oh, What a Night!'

This subversive, loopy, and fantastically eccentric take-think banjos, beach balls, and guitars-on Gilbert and Sullivan's preposterous musical took audiences in Chicago by storm when presented by rebel theatre-makers The Hipocrites. Frederic was mistakenly apprenticed as a young boy to a band of sentimental pirates. Now 21, he falls head-over-heels for the Major-General's daughter and forswears the buccaneer's life forever, or so he thinks. This buoyant, award-winning Pirates of Penzance by Sean Graney and Kevin O'Donnell and featuring just 12 actors (who also serve as the orchestra) is an irrevent and fresh homage to a world turned upside-down for Gilbert and Sullivan diehard fans and newcomers alike.

Anyone who has ever been involved in a volunteer theatrical production will certainly understand the craziness associated with amateurs attempting to put on a play due to both their lack of acting experience, taking direction, or the maddening interference from its meddling playwright who drops in at every rehearsal with newly revised and/or added scenes which contradict what they have already been rehearsing. Such is the case in Rick Abbot's comedy PLAY ON! which is currently being presented at Theatre Palisades as the second show of its 2018 season, directed by Sherry Coon and produced for the community theater group by Martha Hunter and Sue Hardie.

Tony Award winning choreographer and director George Faison (The Wiz) presented Andre De Shields, a two-time Tony nominee, Drama Desk nominee, Emmy winner and multi-Audelco Award and Outer Critics Circle Award winner, with the 2018 Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award at the 33rd Annual Bistro Awards Gala, held at Gotham Comedy Club in New York on March 12th. De Shields received the Bistro Awards' highest honor for his five decades of stage and nightclub accomplishments.

The new nonprofit Garry Marshall Theatre's First Annual Founder's Gala will forever be held on November 13th - Garry's birthday and lucky number. John Stamos hosted the event earlier this week. BroadwayWorld was there and brings you photos from the evening below!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) honored Cindy Holland, Vice President, Original Content at Netflix with the 2017 Sherry Lansing Award at its annual Big Bash gala, October 20, 2017, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills. The award recognizes an individual who provides an inspiring and positive role model to our city's youth. The gala raised $535,000 to support BBBSLA programs. Richard Winchester, producer and co-founder of Artfull Circle Theatre in San Francisco presents the New York return of the hilarious holiday musical comedy hit, the Drama Desk nominated Christmas with the Crawfords, playing at the Abrons Art Center. CWTC stars downtown legend Joey Arias as Joan Crawford and Project Runway's Chris March as her darling daughter Christina. Connie Champagne returns as Judy Garland - a role in which she has garnered international acclaim.

Red Branch Theatre Company (RBTC) will open its sixth mainstage season with The Last Five Years and john & jen in repertory billed under the series title "The Love/Loss Cycle." This is the first time that Red Branch will produce two shows in repertory since its inception in 2008.

Lewiston's Public Theatre has mounted a stylish, wistful, zany production of Kim Rosenstock's Tigers Be Still, a bittersweet comedy that looks at the absurd side of dysfunction. The play, which had its premiere at New York's Roundabout Theatre, tells the intertwined stories of two families who have been immobilized by loss and their struggle to emerge from depression and move forward with their lives. Narrated by the daughter Sherry, whose recently acquired job as an art therapist gives her the impetus to shake her gloom, the play draws an ironic contrast between Sherry's newfound optimism and the darker realities of the other characters. Ever lurking in the background is the metaphorical - and actual - threat of a tiger escaped from the zoo - the nameless fear that paralyzes action until at last confronted toward the end of the play.

The 28th Annual Bistro Awards gala took place on March 4, 2013. Unlike most other awards shows, the Bistro Awards is an evening filled with great performances from the winners - stars as well as talented newcomers - who represent a wide variety of styles from the worlds of cabaret, comedy, and jazz. BroadwayWorld has photos from the ceremony below!

Forever Dusty, the hit new musical about the life and times of legendary British pop star Dusty Springfield, celebrated its 100th performance with a one-night-only Sing-A-Long performance last night, February 13, 2013 at 7:00 PM. Audience members at this special performance were invited to participate and sing along to Dusty's greatest hits, including 'Son of a Preacher Man,' 'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me,' 'I Only Want to Be With You,' along with other classics included in the show, like 'Wishin' and Hopin,' 'Tell Him,' and many more.

It's always hard for me to come up with the best of anything in entertainment. With my backstage theatre background, I'm obsessed with detail, and I can't simply sit back and enjoy any show. As a writer, I'm obsessed with the words, the sentence, the grammar, etc., and I can never read strictly for pleasure. In the pressure cooker of coming up with the best picks for 2012, I have a mixed pot.

Stephen Sorrentino wowed Hollywood with the West Coast Premiere of his hit show VOICES IN MY HEAD. Celebrity guests and fans who walked the red carpet on opening night include Doris Roberts, Joanne Worley, Todd Sherry Ruta Lee, Anne Jeffreys, Joan Kean, Lon Haber and Chuck McCann, as well as legendary Hollywood publicist Ed Lozzi, with Nic Novicki of "Boardwalk Empire" and teen stars and filmmakers Tara-Nicole Azarian, Isabella Palmieri, Allie Carlton, Kiana Lyz Rivera, Trent Carlton and Brandon Tyler Russell. On Wednesday August 22, Group rep presented a special performance of their critically acclaimed production of Jon Robin Baitz' Paris Letter to an SRO audience. Baitz was in attendance and did a talk-back after the show. Below are photos from the evening!
