Production photos have been released for Martyna Majok’s critically acclaimed play Ironbound at the Broadwater Second Stage, running for three performances through today, July 16th at 2:30pm. Directed by Susan Leslie, the cast features (in alphabetical order) Matt Bushell, Shea Depmore, Isaiah Frazilus, and Daniel Shawn Miller. Net proceeds will benefit WomenShelter of Long Beach. Hell in a Handbag Productions is concluding its 21st season with the world premiere musical parody Murder, ReWrote, playing August 10 – September 16, 2023 at The Den Theatre (Upstairs Mainstage) in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. The press opening is Sunday, August 13 at 7 pm. Dear Evan Hansen at Connor Palace is a top-ranking musical drama that highlights social anxiety, suicide, family angst, and teenage drug addiction. Music Theatre Kansas City (MTKC) is well known around town for offering steady, top-quality musicals performed by the city's best youth talent. In 2016, MTKC introduced its first paid-professional production with The Last Five Years and the start of the longtime local theater company's expansion into professional-level performances. Since then, they presented a sell-out production of Avenue Q as the Kansas City professional premiere, the newest revival version of Pippin as well two Christmas musicals, A Wonderful Life and the regional premiere of All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914.

'Feathers of Fire: A Persian Epic' is a visually breathtaking cinematic shadow play for all ages, created and directed by Hamid Rahmanian, a 2014 Guggenheim fellowship-winning filmmaker/visual artist. Inspired by the tenth century Persian epic 'Shahnameh' (The Book of Kings), it dramatizes the origin story from the tale with elaborate shadow puppets, multimedia and live actors. The production, which debuted at BAM in 2016 and was presented at the Metropolitan Museum of Art the same year, returns to New York next month for two days only.  It will be presented by Fictionville Studio September 7 and 8 at Kaye Playhouse, 695 Park Ave. (at 68th Street), for three performances only before it travels to China and Paris.

Set amidst the cornfields of Iowa in 1965, this passionate musical follows the unexpected affair of a devoted Italian-born housewife and a roving National Geographic photographer set over four sensual, heart-stirring days. Brilliantly adapted by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright Marsha Norman ('night Mother, The Secret Garden, The Color Purple) with music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade), it captured the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical Score. The Bridges of Madison County, directed by TheatreWorks Artistic Director and founder Robert Kelley will be presented April 4 - 29, 2018 (opening night: April 7) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St., Mountain View. An original musical with music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer, Jason Robert Brown, (Parade, The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County) and book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn, it premiered on Broadway in 2008 and is the only Broadway musical ever with a cast and band entirely made of teenagers.

Hitch*Cocktails - the improvised thriller (and drinking game) has been a Chicago comedy staple for five years, and in July the nefarious fellows are celebrating in style. Special performances will be hosted every Friday in July (July 7, 14, 21 and 28th), 2017 at The Annoyance Theatre and Bar, 851 W Belmont Ave., in Chicago. Doors open at 10:00 p.m., and the show begins shortly after. 

The dog days of summer arrive early this year, as Rubicon Theatre Company presents a spring production of A.R. Gurney's howlingly funny canine comedy SYLVIA, a love story about empty nesters Greg and Kate, and an irrepressible mutt named Sylvia. Written by Drama Desk, Obie and Lortel Award-winning playwright A.R. Gurney (also known for Love Letters and The Dining Room), the plot follows what happens after a man going through a midlife crisis finds a dog in Central Park and brings her home without consulting his wife.

Greater Cleveland is blessed with a vital theater scene. It has been the purpose of the TIMES THEATER TRIBUTES, now known as BROADWAY WORLD-CLEVELAND REGIONAL PROFESSIONAL THEATER TRIBUTES (BWW-Cle Theater Tributes), to recognize theatrical experiences that, in the subjective view of this reviewer, were excellent and deserve recognition.

Academy Award-nominated actor Burt Young (Rocky, Chinatown, The Pope of Greenwich Village)takes on the role of an aging mob boss in a new comedy written and directed by David Varriale. The world premiere of The Last Vig will open Jan. 14 at the Zephyr Theatre on Melrose for a six-week run.

Short North Stage's annual gala celebrated on October 7th, 2016 by starting with a cocktail hour where guests enjoyed a musical journey through the last five years of fabulous theatre with some of the favorite performers. Then the celebration continued on the main stage where they enjoyed an elegant three-course meal, catered by Carfagna's Kitchen, a Columbus favorite for the past 75 years. As an added pleasure, many of the performers joined each table on stage in costume and in character during the dinner. Throughout the evening they could bid on silent auction items with all kinds of great items to bid on including signed posters, a weekend getaway, and a couple of walk-on performances for shows in their upcoming season.

Adam Halpin (Broadway's GLORY DAYS, RENT Natl. Tour) has just joined the cast of the new musical Daddy Long Legs, alongside his wife Megan McGinnis (Broadway's LES MISERABLES, SIDE SHOW, LITTLE WOMEN). Halpin, recently seen in another two-person musical THE LAST FIVE YEARS at Long Wharf Theatre, assumed the role on November 20th. The couple will appear together onstage through February 2016.
