Two new character-driven relationship plays, both by award-winning women writers and both inspired by events currently at the forefront of our national consciousness, beat out 1241 other submissions in the inaugural Moss Hart & Kitty Carlisle Hart New Play Initiative. Hart NPI artistic director Christopher Hart will direct Silver Medallion-winning plays Confederates by Suzanne Bradbeer, opening Nov. 9, and Exit Wounds by Wendy Graf, opening Nov. 16, atGrove Theater Center in Burbank, where the two plays will continue to run in repertory through Dec. 16. One will be named the Gold Medallion winner and open on March 13, 2019 for a six-week, off-Broadway run in the 196-seat "Theater A" at 59E59 Theaters in New York City.

The 2018 Broadway At Music Circus season continues with Disney's Newsies, which The New York Times called 'a musical worth singing about!' With a cast that includes Broadway veterans and veterans of the Broadway and national touring productions of Newsies-and featuring the original Tony Award-winning Broadway choreography-the show is sure to be an audience favorite. Performances of Disney's Newsies are Tuesday, July 10 through Sunday, July 15 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the continuation of the fourth season of Chicago's hit "lost" musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits Little Me, music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and book by Neil Simon based on the novel by Patrick Dennis, with direction by Porchlight Artistic Director Michael Weber, musical direction by Linda Madonia, choreography by Craig Miller with special guest choreography by veteran Bob Fosse dancer Jane Lanier and starring Jeff Award-winner Matt Crowle. Porchlight Revisits Little Me is presented for three-nights-only Tuesday, Feb. 28 through Thursday, March 2 at 7:15 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's The Scottsboro Boys (previews begin Friday, Feb. 3) at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets for Little Me are $35. Tommy Mottola, the Dodgers, Tribeca Productions, and Evamere Entertainment just announced that the Original Broadway Cast Album of A Bronx Tale was recorded in New York City today, January 9. Cagney, the new hit musical about Hollywood's tough guy in tap shoes, celebrates its 300th performance, today, December 21 at the Westside Theatre, upstairs. Cagney had its official opening on April 3, 2016 following 21 preview performances.

A LITTLE NEW MUSIC returns to the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Monday, November 14th at 8:30pm for its latest showcase of emerging musical theater writers, featuring performers from Broadway and beyond. 

TexARTS' next production in its 2016-17 Professional Series will be a musical inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley. All Shook Up runs August 12 - 21 at the Kam and James Morris Theatre.
