Irish Rep Announces THE ARAN ISLANDS: A Performance on Screen

Irish Repertory Theatre announced today that their next Performance on Screen digital production is The Aran Islands by J.M. Synge and adapted and directed by Joe O’Byrne. Starring Brendan Conroy, the virtual production of The Aran Islands will premiere on Tuesday March 16, 2021 at 7pm ET and run through Sunday March 28, 2021.

The Gift Theatre has launched its 2020 Season with a revival of Martin McDonagh's masterpiece THE PILLOWMAN, directed by Laura Alcalá Baker, playing February 27 a?" March 29, 2020 at The Gift's home at 4802 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood. Single tickets go on sale Sunday, December 1 at www.thegifttheatre.org or by calling (773) 283-7071. Casting will be announced shortly. Season subscriptions packages are currently available. The press opening is Monday, March 2 at 7:30 pm.

During this year's Season Release Bash at Park & Field, Artistic Director and Co-Founder Michael Patrick Thornton and Associate Artistic Director Emjoy Gavino announced The Gift Theatre's 2020 Season will include: a revival of Martin McDonagh's masterpiece THE PILLOWMAN; the Chicago premiere of Naomi Iizuka's drama AT THE VANISHING POINT, directed by Lavina Jadhwani; and the world premiere of Jennifer Rumberger's drama THE LOCUSTS, commissioned and developed by The Gift.
Darkly Comic THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN Gets Partner-Cast Production at Antaeus

Dreams are in short supply on the island of Inishmaan, especially for Billy Claven, orphaned and crippled since birth. Antaeus Theatre Company presents The Cripple of Inishmaan, a darkly comic Irish yarn by master storyteller Martin McDonagh. Steven Robman directs a partner-cast ensemble for a Jan. 24 and Jan. 25 opening (one opening night for each cast) at the Kiki & David Gindler Performing Arts Center in Glendale, where performances continue through March 11. Low-priced previews begin Jan. 17.
