Co-written by Oliver and James Clements and directed by Michael Cotey, GUAC embraces its rough-around-the-edges persona without laboring to break new ground.  The 100-minute evening has a narrative sequence and certainly an agenda.

by Jennifer Ashley Tepper - Nov 2, 2025

Only two new musicals are opening on Broadway in the first half of the 2025-2026 season: The Queen of Versailles and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York). There has been much discourse on the topic of whether rising capitalization costs and the rareness of full recoupment is impacting the number of new musicals being produced on Broadway.

Review: PATRICIA SINGS PIAF at The Sheldon
by Steve Callahan - Oct 13, 2025

It’s been a really, really good year in St. Louis for French songs.  In April the Blue Strawberry hosted a marvelous evening of Jacques Brel, the superstar chansonnier of the ‘50s and ‘60s.  Now, at the Sheldon, we have an evening of that even more dazzling icon, Édith Piaf, who blazed across the world’s musical firmament a generation earlier.

Interview: THE DRESSING ROOM Brings Vancouver’s Theatre Chaos Back for Season 2
by Alyson Eng - Oct 8, 2025

When creators Paul Almeida and Makayla Moore first envisioned THE DRESSING ROOM, their goal was simple: bring the unpredictable humour of theatre life to the screen while creating opportunities within Vancouver’s own artistic community. What began as a small pilot filmed in 2018, has since evolved into a Leo-nominated comedy series that captures the backstage madness, heart, and resilience of the performing arts.

Review: TROILUS AND CRESSIDA, Shakespeare's Globe
by Debbie Gilpin - Oct 4, 2025

One of the least performed plays in Shakespeare’s canon, and also one of the most aptly labelled as a ‘problem play’; Troilus and Cressida is ostensibly about the romance between these two Trojans, but in reality much of the play focuses on the backdrop to their love - the ongoing siege of Troy by the Greeks. This production in the open-air Globe Theatre is the final new show of the summer season.
