The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival, the annual festival that honors legendary novelist Philip K. Dick through the dynamic power of science fiction film, is returning for its seventh outing with a full schedule of events. For the first time since its inception, the festival will hold a bi-coastal gathering presenting a lineup of films, premieres and panels for audiences in New York City, Los Angeles and Santa Ana, CA. The ambitious endeavor will provide a platform for independent filmmakers who tackle a variety of themes that empower the narratives of Philip K. Dick, whose work continues to serve as a profound mark on the literary and entertainment worlds.

The San Diego Theatre Critics Circle is pleased to announce the winners of its 2018 Craig Noel Awards. Now in its 17th year, the Craig Noel Awards honor the achievements of professional theaters in San Diego County.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced that Corps de Ballet members Jeannine Haller (22) and Siphesihle November (20) will represent the company at The Thirteenth International Competition for The Erik Bruhn Prize on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 7:30 pm at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Today, Hancock Whitney Broadway in New Orleans at the Saenger Theatre announced its 2019 - 2020 season line-up of shows, headlined by the six-time Tony Award and 2018 Grammy Award-winning Best Musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN and also includes MEAN GIRLS; A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL; MISS SAIGON; Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY; ANASTASIA; and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. The 2019-2020 season is presented by the New Orleans Theatre Association and will begin in the Fall. The new season represents a wide range of Tony Award winners and Broadway blockbusters for New Orleans audiences to enjoy.

Sarasota Opera will celebrate its 60th Season when the 2019 Winter Opera Festival opens on February 9th with Puccini's Turandot. The festival will continue with Mozart's The Magic Flute, Verdi's Nabucco, and the premiere of a rare and delightful comic double bill: Donizetti's Rita (Two Men and a Woman) and Wolf-Ferrari's Susanna's Secret. Special events, lectures, recitals, and concerts continue through the season. Capping off the festivities will be the Diamond Anniversary recital and dinner on April 5th.

The Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC) at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University (SMU) that will give the 2019 First Prize Laureates a paid two-year residency in Dallas, Texas. This, in addition to generous cash prizes, residency opportunities at Banff Centre, and a three-year artistic and career development program, makes the triennial chamber music competition one of the top events of its kind. In response to the current political climate, the enthralling duo takes the audience captive, delving into their experience of living, resisting, and trying to hang on to a shared humanity in their signature no-holds-barred feminist stage show escapade.

Billboard journalist Tom Roland was presented with the 2018 CMA Media Achievement Award backstage Wednesday, Nov. 14 during “The 52nd Annual CMA Awards” at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. The 49th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2018 will be held in Goa from 20th to 28th November, 2018. 49th edition of the festival will showcase 212 films from over 68 countries, which reflects diversity of taste.

The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) today honored several outstanding female journalists at the 2018 Courage in Journalism Awards luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street. This year's honorees included news agency JINHA founder, Zehra Do?an, U.S. freelance photojournalist, Meridith Kohut, undercover CNN International correspondent, Nima Elbagir, and organized crime reporter and ZETA editor-in-chief, Rosario Mosso Castro. "60 Minutes'" Lesley Stahl also received the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, MSNBC President, Phil Griffin was recognized with the IWMF Leadership Award along with Bloomberg News' Senior Editor, Karen Toulon who was honored with the Gwen Ifill Award.
