The core artistic company of Kansas City Actors Theatre has announced that Friday, September 25th at 12 pm (CT) as the premiere of their weekly radio theatre series, Kansas City Actors Radio Theatre, presented in partnership with radio station 90.1FM KKFI, Kansas City Community Radio.

For the ninth consecutive year, singers from around the world will compete in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition (aka 'The Sassy Awards') - a 21st-century version of the amateur night at the Apollo Theater that helped launch the career of a gifted teenager from Newark, Sarah 'Sassy' Vaughan, more than 75 years ago.

The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers is pleased to exhibit the oil painting Two Peasant Women (1928-30) by Kazimir Malevich, a loan from the Moscow-based cultural project Encyclopedia of the Russian Avant-Garde, through May 17, 2020. Roundabout Theatre Company and Columbia University School of the Arts have announced the winners of Columbia@Roundabout's 2019 New Play Reading Series. As part of the collaborative partnership between Roundabout Theatre Company and Columbia University, the reading series awards three playwrights from the current MFA program and recent alumni with a cash prize as well as a reading in Roundabout's Rehearsal Hall, followed by a post-reading reception. Five finalists have also received cash prizes in recognition of their exceptional work. No other collaborative partnership in the New York area brings together an esteemed Ivy League MFA program with a Tony Award-winning, not-for-profit theatre. The reading series is made possible by a grant from The Tow Foundation.

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) is revving up for the 14th Annual Car Show and Street Festival on Sunday, July 28, 2019, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, on EPA between Broad and Dickinson streets. Award-winning artists' collective Rogue Artists Ensemble is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Rogue Lab Readings Series, a four-day event that includes readings of seven new works written, directed, and designed by emerging LA artists, as well as post-show discussions and receptions. Al Heartley has been named managing director of the Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts by the School of Communication at Northwestern University. Heartley comes to Northwestern from the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Conn., where he served as director of development.
