Alexander Brown 2017 Uncaged Sauvignon Blanc from GRAMMY award-winning musician Zac Brown and Napa Valley Winemaker John Killebrew. The new varietal is the second white wine to join the portfolio of robust wines, following the release of the 2016 Santa Lucia Highlands Uncaged Chardonnay in January. Tippet Rise Art Center, set on a 10,260-acre working ranch at the foot of Montana's Beartooth Mountains, today announced the programs for its third concert season, comprising more than 25 recitals and chamber music concerts from July 6 through September 8, 2018. When playwright Tania Wisbar was growing up as a girl in America, her mother shared little about her past in wartime Germany, other than Tania came from a very well-placed and highly respected film family. With her parents divorced, there was not much else Tania knew about her family history, at least not until 1999 when a German professor visiting the U.S. brought Wisbar a 60-year-old document he had discovered in a Harvard University archive. In the 86-page manuscript, Wisbar's mother, Eva Kroy Wisbar, who was Jewish, detailed her forbidden marriage to a German film director as the Nazis were coming to power. The manuscript held answers to many of the questions the playwright's mother never answered before her 1984 death. Fifteen years later, that document inspired Wisbar's play, THE RED DRESS, its World Premiere now at the Odyssey Theatre through November 19.

On Friday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m., the Orchestra performs Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26 with Martha Argerich who returns to Carnegie Hall for the first time in nine years as well as the Sinfonia from Verdi's Aida and Resphigi's Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome. A pre-concert talk begins at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with Alain Frogley, Professor of Music History at the University of Connecticut.

The New York Philharmonic will present Bernstein's Philharmonic: A Centennial Festival, October 25-November 14, 2017,celebrating the former Philharmonic Music Director and Laureate Conductor on the centennial of his birth. The festival - which is part of the worldwide salute to the legacy of the renowned composer, conductor, pianist, and educator - will center on Bernstein's symphonic cycle, conducted by Alan Gilbert and Leonard Slatkin, complemented by other Bernstein works as well as by music by composers he admired and championed. In addition, the Philharmonic will present a Young People's Concert - the series that Bernstein famously brought to national attention through the television broadcasts - titled Inspirations and Tributes: "Celebrating Leonard Bernstein," conducted by Leonard Slatkin and featuring pianist Makoto Ozone on November 11. A number of other events - ranging from a marathon of Bernstein's Mahler recordings to a partnership with Harvard and University of Michigan to explore Bernstein as an educator and conductor - complement the concerts throughout the centennial season. Bernstein served as the Philharmonic's Music Director from 1958 to 1969, when he was named Laureate Conductor, a title he held until his death in 1990.
